JSEC families celebrate Legoland Summernight

Shortly before midnight the 24 participants of the event "Legoland Long Summernights" of the Joint Support and Enabling Command arrived back in the Wilhelmsburg Barracks in Ulm. For the first time the Family Support Office had organised the evening event for JSEC staff and their families in the middle of the German Summer Holidays.

For me and my children the fireworks in the middle of Legoland were the highlight of the tour

Every month the Family Support Office of the Wilhelmsburg Barracks is offering the staff of Multinational Joint Headquarters (MN JHQ) Ulm and JSEC guided tours for them and their families in the Ulm surroundings. As there were numerous visits of the family Park "Legoland" in Günzburg in the last years, this time the Office offered a new version of the trip: The visit of the Legoland Long Summernights, which are charactarized by three hours extra opening time, a special parade, a live concert of the band Angus Court, the big closing fireworks and the Lego Dreamzzz Acrobatics Performance.

This meant that the day and evening was full of attractions and the families with their four to twelve year old children had a good time together beside the daily business in the NATO headquarters. Although the park was partially overcrowded and the waiting times at the popular attractions rised up to 90 minutes, the multinational group was glad having been part of the trip to one of Germanys most famous family parks. "For me and my children the fireworks in the middle of Legoland were the highlight of the tour", one participant emphasized after the overall twelve hour trip.

For their suprise they found a Cafe Einstein similar to the one that is located at JSEC. Others were fascinated by the Miniature Wonderland, where millions of Lego Pieces are put together to fascinating sceneries. Most of them won't miss the next trip in September, when the JSEC and MN JHQ Ulm will visit the Skyline Park in the Allgäu.
