JSEC Family goes Motobiking

ULM, Germany - Since a few months the Family Support team of JSEC offers its members and families guided motobike tours to cultural highlights in South Germany. Past time the participants returned with diverse impressions from a trip to Regensburg.

For the third time this year the motobiker of JSEC were starting their tour throug Southern Germany with a guide of the Familiy Support Office early in the morning at the Wilhelmsburg Barracks in Ulm. This time the path led over Harburg, Eichstätt and Hemau to Regensburg with its impressive landmark "Walhalla".

The Walhalla Memorial stands there on the high bank of the Danube like a lost Greek temple, and yet it is one of Germany's most important national monuments. Built under King Ludwig I by Leo von Klenze from 1830 to 1842, it is one of the most outstanding examples of classical architecture of the 19th century in Bavaria.

Its shape is based on the Parthenon of the Athenian Acropolis, but its name comes from Germanic mythology and refers to the meeting place of warriors who have fallen in battle.

"We were enthusiastic about the landscape, the winding roads and the imposing Valhalla", one participant said. After 12:30 hrs, 440 km on bike and many impressions in mind the tour ended again at the main gate of the Wilhelmsburg Barracks.
