ULM, Germany - For JSEC this years' sports highlight was the attendance in the 20th Einstein Marathon in the city of Ulm. 57 participants, including the staff and their family members of Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE), JFC Norfolk and NATO HQ, underlined their physical readiness in running and walking over distances from 5 km to marathon. 

"I'm proud to have such a great team from different nations and entities around me. The participation in events like this are showing, that we are always ready for fulfilling our mission and strengthen our network with all relevant stakeholders 24/7", the Commander of JSEC, Lieutenant General Alexander Sollfrank, said right before his start over the half marathon distance: "And now, let's have fun!"

The STFX24 team of JSEC and SHAPE, which executed the NATO exercise STEADFAST FOXTROT 2024 a few days ago, used the opportunity to run and celebrate together at the Einstein Marathon 2024 With success: Lieutenant Colonel Brittany Morreale and her husband Lopez Lomong, olympic athlete of 2008 and 2012, finished first and second in the 5 km run AOK Gesundheitslauf.
