4th of July and the RAGBRAI in Iowa, United States of America

The 4^th of July, Independence Day, is the National Day of the United States commemorating the Declaration of its Independence, on July 4, 1776.

We continue to celebrate the National Days of our member Nations in 2021 by introducing one of our staff members and unveiling some facts. Interesting, surprising, fascinating, amazing, extraordinary fun facts, usually not found in any travel guides.

Did you know Iowa is home to the largest bike-touring event in the world?

This year's RAGBRAI is scheduled to begin July 25, 2021, in Le Mars and end July 31 in Clinton, with a total distance of 730,8 kilometres.

The ride goes across the state of Iowa from west to east, and draws recreational riders from across the United States and many foreign countries. First held in 1973, RAGBRAI is the largest bike-touring event in the world.
