How to use the Autobahn - German Driving Academy for international Officers

For being authorized to drive German “Bw-Fuhrpark Service” vehicles, multinational soldiers at JSEC have to pass an official test drive. The Support Company organized and conducted both previous training and test in spite of the rainy weather conditions in the Wilhelmsburg Barracks mid of June.

Either wearing their COVID-19 protection gear or keeping their “social distance” at 1.5 metres, the trainees attended several theoretical lessons and conducted the mandatory pre-drive inspection before they finally lined up for the test drive.

The Driving Examiner, German Lieutenant Colonel Jens Behling, tested their skills by letting them plunge into the everyday traffic in the heart of Ulm’s city and its surrounding countryside. "They are all very experienced Drivers, but still German traffic has some challenges to offer." he said.

All three examinees passed the test.
