The designated Commander of the Joint Force Command Brunssum and former Chief of the German Army, Lieutenant General Jörg Vollmer, visited Wilhelmsburg Barracks in Ulm on 27th February.

He was welcomed and informed by Lieutenant General Jürgen Knappe, Commander of the Joint Support and Enabling Command (JSEC) and his staff about current developments in the new operational headquarters. He also was informed about the structure and military tasks of the co-located Multinational Joint Headquarters Ulm.

“JSEC is on the way to full readiness in order to enable the right kind of troops at the right place at the right time”, explained Knappe. He emphasized particularly in his briefing: “We care for protection, supply, training and mission enablement of NATO follow-on forces in European theatre. To make a long story short: We cover NATO`s back.“
