Reinforcement and sustainment network on the right track during Spring conference

ULM, Germany – The Joint Support and Enabling Command (JSEC) held its Reinforcement and Sustainment Network (RSN) Spring Conference in Ulm from 8 to 10 May. More than 80 participants from NATO organisations such as among others the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE), the Allied Land Command, the Joint Forces Commands, the United States European Command and the 21st Theater Sustainment Command followed the invitation to the Wilhelmsburg Barracks.

The RSN Spring Conference, as one of JSEC's major events in 2023, focused on the outcomes of the so-called country visits by Lieutenant General Alexander Sollfrank, Commander JSEC, during which he and JSEC staff established and enhanced strong cooperation and partnership with NATO Allies and close partners. Additionally, Sustainment aspects in the Supreme Allied Commander Europe’s (SACEUR) Area of Responsibility (AOR) and Readiness issues of the RSN filled the agenda. The overall themes of roles, responsibilities and authorities were accompanied by intense discussions between the participants and an exchange of expertise during two workshops throughout the conference.

This conference provides an excellent opportunity to explore how we can strengthen the network's capabilities and enhance our readiness to contribute to a credible deterrence of the Alliance

"The RSN is a critical element of NATO's ability to project power to wherever the Alliance faces a crisis or conflict. It is essential that we as JSEC ensure it remains resilient and responsive. This conference provides an excellent opportunity to explore how we can strengthen the network's capabilities and enhance our readiness to contribute to a credible deterrence of the Alliance," Sollfrank emphasized during his welcome remarks directed to the participants of the conference.
