Kevin J. Scheid, General Manager of the NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCIA), visits JSEC
Lieutenant General Jürgen Knappe, JSEC Commander, welcomed and informed him about current developments of the new operational Headquarters
“Establishing an extensive network of contacts with relevant authorities all over Europe requires a reliable, safe and secure communication and data system,” said the General. "In sum, we strengthen the Alliance's deterrence and defense capabilities."
Mr. Scheid was particularly interested in JSEC’s operational capabilities and the infrastructural measures taken to establish NATO’s Standing Joint Logistics Support Group at Wilhelmsburg Barracks.
The NCIA acquires, deploys and defends communications systems for NATO's political decision-makers and Commands; they are on the frontlines against cyber-attacks, working closely with governments and industry to prevent future debilitating attacks. That includes the integration of JSEC and the SJLSG into the NATO-IT and communication systems.
