Ulm, Germany – Lieutenant General Roger L. Cloutier, Commander of the Allied Land Command in Izmir, Turkey, visited the Joint Support and Enabling Command.

Lieutenant General Jürgen Knappe, JSEC Commander, welcomed him in his office, “I am very much looking forward to our future cooperation!” 

During his visit, Cloutier was informed about current developments, the operating concept and the preparation of the certification exercise of JSEC. Lieutenant General Knappe underlined, “JSEC will establish a functional and reliable network, which is designed to enable, preserve and demonstrate the preparation, deployment, reinforcement and sustainment of NATO Forces.”

LANDCOM is the standing headquarters for NATO land forces and is responsible for coordinating and synchronizing NATO and partner land forces by enabling readiness, interoperability, standardization and competency throughout land domain operations in the Alliance. The visit of Lieutenant General Cloutier emphasizes the importance of the direct contact between the two commands.
