He was welcomed back in his staff by Commander Lieutenant General Jürgen Knappe and the Flag Officer’s during a standing reception in Ulm this morning. “I am very much looking forward to working in this great team!” said the newly promoted Major General.

Renk was commissioned as a second lieutenant and Tank Platoon Commander in 1989 in the Tank Battalion 244 in Landshut, Germany

His previous command and leadership assignments include being a Company Commander in the Tank Bataillon 203 in Hemer, Germany; Chief of Staff of the Armoured Infantry Brigade in Weißenfels, Germany; Director of Staff Operations, Multinational Brigade South Headquarters, Kosovo; Commander of Tank Battalion 33 in Neustadt, Germany; Branch Chief in the Operations Staff, Branch Chief in the Strategy and Operations Directorate and Executive Officer to the State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Defense in Berlin, Germany; Deputy Commander and Commander Army Training Centers at the Army Training Command in Leipzig, Germany; Commander of the Train Advice Assist Command North, Resolute Support Mission, Afghanistan and Chief of Staff of the U.S. Army Headquarters Europe in Wiesbaden, Germany.

Renk assumed his duties as Deputy Commander of the JSEC and the Chief of Staff Multinational Joint Headquarters Ulm in April 2020.
