Paving the ground for further steps in the founding process of the Joint Support and Enabling Command

Ulm, Germany, Wednesday 16. September 2020 - Eighteen representatives of sixteen NATO member states met in the Wilhelmsburg Barracks for an information meeting for the future Joint Support and Enabling Command Senior Policy and Resource Committee (JSEC SPRC). The aim was to familiarise the nations that are negotiating the related Technical Administrative Arrangement (TAA) and other interested nations with JSEC.

Lieutenant General Jürgen Knappe, JSEC Commander, welcomed German Brigadier General Ruprecht Horst von Butler, nominated Chairman of the JSEC SPRC, in the garrison’s Europe Hall. He stated, “It is good to see that the alliance and the contributing nations are deeply committed to undertake and streamline all necessary legal steps.”

According to the draft of the JSEC TAA and with Germany being the Framework Nation, German Ministry of Defense is the responsible authority to run the JSEC SPRC. The committee consists of representatives of the participating nations and is authorized to decide on all matters concerning the policy, manning and financial issues of JSEC, including the annual budget. The constituent meeting of the JSEC SPRC is planned to take place in Ulm on 10th November 2020.
