Providing the NATO Military Committee with an Update on the Joint Support and Enabling Command

Brussels, Belgium, 16 November 2020 – Lieutenant General Jürgen Knappe, Commander of the Joint Support and Enabling Command (JSEC), travelled to the NATO Headquarters in Brussels, Belgium, in order to report to the NATO Military Committee.

He took the opportunity to inform the Military Representatives of the NATO member states about the current developments and the status of the JSEC on its way to full operational capability.In particular, Lieutenant General Knappe presented the conceptual framework and the preparation of the certification exercise “Steadfast Defender 21”, parts of which will take place in Ulm, Germany, April/May 2021.

The NATO Military Committee is composed of the Chiefs of Defense of the member states, the most senior military officers in each nation's armed forces. It assists and advises the principal political decision-making body of the Alliance, the North Atlantic Council, on military matters, including policy and strategy.
