The TAA defines the legal framework for JSEC’s major task as an international networker. It contains clear, agreed and binding rules for all contributing nations and shows their commitment to JSEC’s new role and to the Alliance as such.

The next steps in the founding process will be the official assumption of command by SACEUR and the activation as an international military headquarters by the North Atlantic Council in the near future.

General Wolters emphasized the TAA being another incredibly important step in strengthening the Alliance’s preparedness to prevail in competition, crisis, and conflict. According to the SACEUR, JSEC is a vital component of NATO’s ability to comprehensively deter and defend across the Euroatlantic, 360 degrees, in all domains, and all functions.
