Tot Ziens, Baas - Bidding Farewell to the JSEC Chief of Staff

Ulm, Germany, December 13 – The first Chief of Staff in the history of the Joint Support and Enabling Command, Brigadier General Arco Solkesz, was bid farewell by his commander, Lieutenant General Jürgen Knappe.

Starting in 2018 as the "Director" JSEC, Solkesz and his staff focused on building up JSEC from being just an idea in the minds of the NATO Defense Ministers back in 2016, to a functioning and full operational capable NATO Headquarters in 2021.

"I am very proud of what we have built together," he addressed his team, "be sure to appreciate yourselves from time to time!" Returning to The Netherlands, Solkesz will be assigned to the Dutch Army Command in Utrecht.

During the staff formation, Lieutenant General Knappe pointed out, "I personally want to thank you very much for your contribution to the setup of JSEC."

Knappe also bid farewell to Colonel Michael Borutta, former Director of Management, and Navy Captain (Medical Corps) Matthias Lucks, former Medical Advisor of the JSEC.
